Post how do you guys anchor your MM handles?
I have long driven a 16 GDLT on a little 1436 alumacraft that has been a LOT of fun. one of the best investments of my life. but I just upgraded to a 1648 with a 31 mud buddy short shaft and I know very little about it. How do I anchor the handle on this short shaft so the motor doesn't flop around while Im driving?? do I just let it swing freely or do I use a bungee tie down on the motor handle? or what?? Thanks guys!

this screwed into your floor and attach a short rope..tie your handle down to it or you can do a rope across your boat and make a loop around your handle so it cant move
but should have a travel lock on it

No travel lock on it? Is it an early production model?

It's in right hand side of frame, you pick motor up while it's straight and push ball in. Locks motor up and straight for travel.

I used the ratchet strap that held my boat on the trailer. I bolted a small piece of strap to the main strap right where the handle met the strap. The motor still moved a lil but not enough to hurt anything.

Use a transom saver and run a gunnel strap across that rear bench looped around the handle.

There is a notch it sits in when in the travel lock position to keep it from swingin side to side.

I don't see anywhere that has a travel lock on my motor.. I'll probably get a transom saver and strap like Mayhem said. Im sure He knows this boat better than I do. ;)

Will do, thank you! I really appreciate it. Any idea what length of transom saver I should get? or are they all adjustable? maybe it would be easier to text me.. 801-991-0577. Thanks dude!

I used a transom saver and place the skeg in the wedge. Works well and the motor does not move when traveling. I tried posting a picture, but the file would not upload.

I just make sure no one is inside my boat turning the steering wheel and that keeps my shaft from moving during travel.
