Post bed liner vs rubberized spray vs hydro turf for interior?
Im going to update the interior of my newly acquired 1648M lowe boat and put something on the seats and on top of the pods ect ect. what would you guys suggest? Im thinking either bedliner or maybe rubberized undercoating type of spray. I don't know if that would be more cost efficient, or possibly doing hydro turf if I can get it at a decent price. any thoughts or advice?

I had looked into the bed liner thing before I knew about HT. I took my hull to a bed liner place, the brand slips my mind, but they told be that it would have to be soda blasted to remove any oxidation and old paint before they would spray it due to their warranty. Luckily I discovered HT and didn't have to go that route. By brother had pro coat sprayed in his new hull and it's still hot as shit. He hates it. And it's a very light grey.

If you're considering turf or bedliner do yourself a favor and check out the Best Step EVA foam mats that Sears sells. EXACT same chit as Turf and a whole lot cheaper to the tune of $25 a sheet

Menards had the same EVA mats that Sears sells. Their price is $19.99 with an occasional sale at $14.99.

I did the ENTIRE inside of my 1860 with HT. I absolutely loved it cause there wasn't one hot spot in that whole boat, but it damn near broke me. Took 9 sheets! If I had known about this stuff back then, I could have saved some jack!! I have been putting the sears stuff in my boat today. I am doing it by myself so it's slow going but easy.

The mats are not slick. I have had it in a few boats as well as having HT. The material is the same (eva foam), the compound is different. (Harder blend)

Has anyone ever bought Hydro turf, not liked it, and replaced it with Best Step?

If both were to cost the same, would anyone choose Best Step over Hydro turf? Or is Best Step usually bought because of its price?

Lord no, HT is a better product simply because it's harder, comes in more colors and patterns and you can get it with adhesive already applied. I don't think this thread was started to downplay how good HT is, it was just showing the guys who can't afford the real stuff, that there is a more budget friendly alternative.

Sorry I just keep seeing the words "exact same" followed shortly thereafter by the words "won't hold up as well" and stuff like that.

I would say if you are new to the game and unsure if you are going to keep your boat more than 2 years, go Best Step. Otherwise do Hydro-turf and be done for many years(if you keep it under cover).

If it's the same stuff, after a few years when the Best Stuff is looking all torn and needing replacing, it will probably be just as hard to remove as HT is.

There is no way I's go with a spray in liner over HT either.

the best step is in my boat, got it from sears. It works great. Found it is easier to put it down with liquid nail rather than DAP though.

I will give this piece of advice. It you don't glue down the entire surface, it will tear I. The areas that don't have adhesive. Don't just glue the perimeter.
