 31hp beavertail HELP
Guys,
I just finished my first mud motor. It's awesome and gets through anything I please but I'm only running at about 12mph! I was hoping for about 20-22. Boat is a 18' mod v. I know some say mod v is not good for mud motor, but it's gotta do better than that right? How should I bend the cav plate? It is hard to keep in the water right now as well. If anyone could text me as well Id really appreciate it. 815 600 4538

Bend the cav plate up in 1/8 inch at a time.

You think that will help the speed?

 Re: 31hp beavertail HELP
I doubt it will help your speed, but it will help keep the prop in the water.

 31hp beavertail HELP
I have a 35 horse Beavertail and just got 17mph on an 1856 flat bottom Go Devil boat completely empty. I think a long skinny flat bottom boat is about all you'll see good speeds on, but 12mph seems awfully slow. Get a tach and see what RPMs you're running. I think 3600 is where you want to be, could be wrong though

 Re: 31hp beavertail HELP
Post a picture of your setup.... and possibly one of it running in the water.... does the motor actually wrap up? Or bog down?
