1 of 2. Ruger M77 in 7mm mag 160 gr nosler partition M98 Mauser chambered in 8mm 180 gr. boat tail Both shoot damn flat and both are no tracking weapons. Shoot em walk over there and field dress em. Especially the 7 mag devastating knock down power. Too much at times. Lol ruined a few front shoulders.

Browning X Bolt in .243 with the federal Fusion rounds. It may be a tad small up here, but I love that gun.

Re: Your deer rifle of choice
I been shooting the same remington 700 270 with 150 grain bullets for 16 years. It has been a great gun to me especially for the price. It is time for me to buy another rifle. I am most likely staying with the 270 but I am looking at other options

If that one has worked that good for that many yrs, I don't see the point of changing guns.

Re: Your deer rifle of choice
It depends on what kind of hunting you do and where. I love my 7mm-08 but I would say .280 rem if I could only have one calibre for all scenarios.

Re: Your deer rifle of choice
The first rifle I purchased myself is a Winchester mdl 70 sporter 30-.06 150 gr Corelokt and I still tote it some every year. My favorite though is a Weatherby Vanguard 25-.06 sub MOA (stage 2) 100gr Blackhills Gold < Bad medicine right there!

Re: Your deer rifle of choice
I have two favorites. A Browning X-bolt in 7mm-08 and a Winchester model 70 Feather weight in .270. Hard to beat the 7mm-08 though. Low recoil but still hits with a thud on the other end!
