 Gtr35 1748 vs 1754
Looking at a new boat. Considering a gt extreme 1748 or 1754. I want to know which one is the faster hull. I have been told very different opinions by different people. I am running a fresh 35 with stage one . My normal load is usually two men and light gear. Either frogging or deer hunting. Please let me know some first hand results. I have been running a 1948 hybrid with a square chine. It runs 28-29 light and 24-25 loaded . I am pleased with it but ready to put my outboard on it and hang my 35 on something else.

I have a 1754. If I were to start over I would get an 1848

If you don't run timber much get a 54. I have a 56 and love it except for when I'm in green timber in arkansas. Then I wish it was a 48.

I went with a 1754. Had my heart set on a 1848 but being they're using the same size sheet of aluminum on the 48 as they did on the 46, your side height is 18" instead of 20". Not a big difference but definitely noticeable sitting in the boat.

Alot pends on hull design. Being the extreme model yer loosin some speed cause of the heavier hull, better hull IMO, but heavier. It all comes down ta the load yer carrying. My guess is they damn close ta the same speeds once ya get yer pardna and stuff. If yer runnin solo I'd say the 48 is a bit faster cause ah less resistance. If yer runnin heavy that 54 is gonna take the 48 cause it'll sit higher with the same load.

I have a 1754 with stage 1 Gtr, I can run 32 all day, light. Tote a load no problem, 28-29 with a two man load. It's a gator series, not extreme.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for, real world speeds. I am leaning to an 18' . Just trying to figure out pros and cons of 48vs 54 .

If it wasn't for my hoa, I would have a 1848, but went 1754 to fit in garage and carry a load better

 Re: Gtr35 1748 vs 1754
I was rolling nets in my 1948 the other night after frogging and I was glad I had 22" sides. Anybody know the weight difference in an extreme and the gator series. I didn't think it would be very much?

 Re: Gtr35 1748 vs 1754
There should be no weight difference. If you have and 18x48 extreme and a 18x46 gator series with the exact same options they should be the same.

54 bottom will haul load better and draft less water
