swamp 23 on 1448 polar kraft?
Would this be a good combo or should I just add the little extra weight and get a 27 swomp?

Re: swamp 23 on 1448 polar kraft?
Would be a nice combo. I asked myself the same question before hanging a Swomp 23 on my Lowe 1448. I went with the 23 simply because it has the pull start should there be a battery problem. On the river I fish with 2 guys and fishing gear I see 16-17 mph upstream and 21-22 mph downstream. Hunt load I'm not sure, never busted out the gps.

Makes sense. I wish my outboard had the option to pull start, had problems before and it wasent fun.

what is the weight differnce bettween the two motors? 14x48 can get sketchy quick when you overload them.

Im not to worried out about 10 pounds, just wanna know how much speed I'd gain. Also I've had this boat over loaded multiple times and the only time it was sketchy was a day with 5ft rollers and a lot of rain (A Lot ).

Re: swamp 23 on 1448 polar kraft?
I have a 1542 with a 23 bw. I am very happy with the speeds of the 23. A lot of the times I have 3 guys=700lbs, dog and gear=150lbs. The pull start saved my ass a few times because of winching to get to a few spots drained the battery.

Re: swamp 23 on 1448 polar kraft?
Got a second battery. Sometimes I have to winch 500 feet threw woods. Sometimes winching the same distance over piles of chunk ice to get to open water. The motor will charge the battery to a point.
