Post Hunter Killed this morning in SETX
Still hearing preliminary stories but they are saying that one hunter swung on some ducks to shoot and his partner stood up and was shot in the face. The hunter that was killed was a 30 year old man from the Kingwood area. Like I said these are preliminary stories that I heard but keep their families in your thoughts. I will update when I hear some more information....everyone be careful out there you never know whats gonna happen.

Friends with the GW's so I can verify he was 30 yrs old and from Kingwood. The other guy is from Orange and neither of them had hunted the area before. BFenn talked to em at the ramp this mornin and told them how to get to the spot they were going to.
We need to pray for both of these families.

Based upon a post in another website from a friend of one of the men

They were experienced hunters, so take extra precautions when
you hunt to setup safely and work out a safe shooting strategy

This will tragicly affect two families

Prayers offered up for both families

Yea I spoke with someone that was hunting there that morning and he said they were both from out of town and had never hunted the area. He had to show them how to get to their spot.

One of the guys I hunt with told me a while back I'm a little hard on my 11yr old while hunting, I went on to tell him the two story's I read about last year where guns had "gone off " and someone was hurt/killed. I expressed I would rather be the "ass" than the grieving father for him or another. So he will hear ," is the safety on, make sure you point that gun away from others, watch how you swing, tell me before you shoot, unload before you move". These are just the top of the list but he will be a better hunter for it, My friends that have had that drilled into them have a little different manner in the field than others, those are the one's my son is allowed to hunt with. Stuff can happen, what we do is dangerous from early morning boat rides to loaded guns, Be Safe Guys.
