 Surface drive weights
I'm eventually looking to get another motor and was wondering the weight difference between each brand (mostly 35hp mud motors). My transom gets real close to taking on water when I'm coming off of plane. Just wondering if my boat would sit any lower than it already does.

 Re: Surface drive weights
I'm pretty sure all ya gotta do is look on their web page? Do lil bit of research an shouldn't be hard to find. I wana say the gtr is around 240-260 maybe but could be way off. Got a contact high paintin some shit don't know why that number came to my head

 Re: Surface drive weights
Is your transom 20"? I wouldn't own a 35 with a short transom

 Re: Surface drive weights
I have a 15" transom. I'm not quite sure what the height would be for a short or tall transom. I figure that if it is a short, they think that with the increased beam it would sit higher in the water so no need for a tall transom.

 Re: Surface drive weights
You can get your transom built up to 20" when you get a new motor. Then get a tall transom motor and you won't have to worry about taking water over the stern anymore. Not very difficult for a competent welder to build the transom up.
