 Shell Talk
Fixing to order a case of shells and want to know what would be the best for the money... also I would prefer 3s.. I may also buy a case of 4s or 6s for teal.. I want opinions from people who have actually patterned and seen consistent results. I realize that each gun/choke is different as well..

 Re: Shell Talk
Damn all yall coon asses shoot tight chokes. All I ever see from y'all is full, extra full...if it's out of range for an IC with steel I don't shoot it. And it reaches out plenty far. Bur I will agree on the blind sides. Great shells and a good deal from Rogers right now with free shipping

 Re: Shell Talk
I just ordered a case of black cloud #3 from Rogers. Shoot it through my modified trulock choke. Use that for 99% of my water/duck hunts. I also picked up 5 boxes of Kent #1 that I shoot out of my factory mod choke for all my field goose hunts. All I shoot is 3" through my beretta xtrema 2. I used to shoot nothing but Kents but got tired of them rusting out with just a little splash of water so went to the black clouds and they are holding up a lot better and shooting just as good with the choke.

 Re: Shell Talk
Rios are fine, just not quite as even out of my 1187. Federal speed shok 3s and 1s and kent 1s pattern well out of my remchoke 1187 (mod). The fed 3s pattern well out of my 870 (mod, carlson tube).

Macks Prarie , once bought send Box Barcode and receipt. In about six to eight weeks you get a 50 dollar certificate, it's good to buy up until Dec 31, this refund is through hev I shot. But 219 for case of 3 inch 2s then 50 back. Did it last year, ordering again next week

 Re: Shell Talk
I don't mind paying a little more if it means they are better and harder hitting shells.. I haven't messed with heavy metal much...
Im down to this... Blindsides, heavy metal, or going cheap and getting rio 3s

 Re: Shell Talk
I shot all the out my Beretta, I personally like Hevi metal. The pattern seems to be better, because of the different shot. I would go two's, simply because you'll have 4 mixed in. Which equals deadly. The blindside are good shells, problem is the wad and certain chokes. Rios for the cash a good shell. I just hate crippling, so for me, I like a hard hitting, consistent, quality load.

 Re: Shell Talk
Hevi shot or heavy metal. Calphil, I shoot pretty well but the hit that Hevi metal delivers stops em in their tracks, we all can't be Crack shots like you. Mr awesome. Brasso, they are good shells, enjoy

 Re: Shell Talk
Check Rogers sporting goods, they offer free shipping on all ammo. I buy all my ammo from there.
I shoot heavy metal 3" #3 for everything including geese.............SBE I Kicks IC choke or a pattern master and get great consistent patterns at 30 yards. Kicks for ducks PM for geese.

I prefer the Kent's.
I dont know what my Mueller "decoy" choke would compare to on factory chokes, but I love it.

 Re: Shell Talk
Early in the season up in Canada and North Dakota when I shoot a lot of shells everyday, I use Rio's 3" #2 steel for ducks with a modified choke. I bought a case of them in 2008 on clearance from Able Ammo online for cheap and turned out I really liked them. I get a case almost every year. Can't beat the price, but's gone up a lot since I bought my first one.
Later in the year, I've been using Hevi-metal with a full choke and love it. I bought 2 cases of it last year at Cabelas when I found it mis-marked.
I did buy one case of Winchester 3" #4 steel 2 years ago and use it on cripples out of my second gun when I'm in the boat. I think they would work fine for ducks as well.
