Post 23hp GDSD or 23hp Mud Buddy Mini
Looking at either 23 GDSD or 23 Mud Buddy Mini, what are the pros and cons on either of these?

Get one with a clutch and trim you will be much happier. As much as I use trim I would hate to be cranking a knob all the time

I have the mini and am perfectly satisfied... For what it is. It's no gtr or prodrive fpr but hell, for an approximately 160lb surface drive, good enough for me.

If I were buying a new one and had the same requirements, I'd look hard at the copperhead

Really depends on what boat you have. If you have a 1448 or bigger I'd say go with a 23or 25 gtr. I've had a motor with out trim, one with it and now I have one with reverse and I would never buy another one with out it.

I'm putting it on a 1546 with a tall transom. I like the copperheads but they only come in short transom. I would like a gtr but the price difference between a GDSD and mud buddy mini is whats keeping me from getting one.

Haha I'm just givin you hell bud. Been doin much fly fishin as the summer winds down?

To the OP.. If your deciding between the Gdsd and the MINI.. I would go with the go devil.. But if your also open to a Hd then I would go with the hd.. Elec. trim is a mighty fine thing to have

haven't got out yet. early I was early Goose and teal hunting lately bow hunting just started last weekend but the salmon and brown trout should start heading back into the rivers to do there thing in 2 weeks or so now that the dog days of summer are over i'll get back out during october chasing 20-30lb kings.

15' is a little short for an HD with the added weight it didnt work out well on my 1448 but the extra foot should help you run flatter than I could with the 14' mine had a mod v front so thats what killed speeds loaded.
