Re: Dean this one is for you !
That field actually is fairly clean compared to some that I have hunted in Ontario.

Re: Dean this one is for you !
it's awesome TMC - just hook the ranger up to the trailer (dekes, layouts or seats) and pick a field, corn is just starting to come in, we might not load the ranger up with birds but we get a few

Re: Dean this one is for you !
Canuck , correct me if I'm wrong. You want to look for a Silver Queen two row picker when scouting for fields to hunt. That picker throws more ears of corn on the ground than in the hopper. When you hear Canuck go Ohoooohooohooooo you know its gonna be a good hunt.

Re: Dean this one is for you !
To be honest I don't hunt geese that much mostly hunt fields for ducks! I know this will piss off a lot of guys but I find field goose hunting boring and not much of a challenge any more. To me it's like shooting hot air balloons ! The hunt the other day I only shot 3 times had my limit! We just have it too good around here! The good hunts to me are getting 5-6 new hunters and let them blast geese at 10' in the air wings locked! If that dose'nt get you hooked on hunting nothing will I got one poor young lad hooked so bad to come out he won't let me help set up the deeks anymore

Re: Dean this one is for you !
The best hunt you will ever have is if you can find a small farm that still uses the old style corn cribs when there is some snow on the ground and they have one of these there will be thousands of ducks around. We had a hunt like that last year and had a 6 man limit in 10 mins! The farmer was wanting us to keep shooting more the next day he had a few Indians in ther and they filled a pick up truck full never went back.

tinman I'm a waterman. Give me a hundred goose floaters a couple dozen duck decoys and a sandbar on the St Lawrence River and I'm in heaven
