Post Best way to change Reverse oil and bleed line GTR
My brother-n-Law just bought a used 18x54 extreme Center Console... Seemed like the reverse was working when we looked at it, but after getting home we found the master cylinder was shot.. Wasn't even pumping fluid to the back. We have a new one in the mail from GT.

My question is this:

How or what is the best way to fill up the new master cylinder and bleed the line? We have a idea but we wonder if there are any special tips or tricks!?

Thanks

Gator Tail has maintenance videos on YouTube that you can look at.

Only thing I can think is I believe some styles of the calipers the bleeders on top. It makes it easier to bleed if take it off to do it, other than that just like doing the brakes on your truck.

I just replaced all the fluid and bled my cc before teal season. I made sure the reservoir was full then had my buddy step on the pedal and hold it down while he held it I would open the bleeder and let the old fluid and air out then close the bleeder before he let off the pedal. Repeated this process we also topped off the reservoir every 4 or 5 pumps ensuring the reservoir was full before he pumped the break until nothing but new fluid was coming out and I could not see any air bubbles in the line.

Or take the whole caliper off and hold it lower then the reservoir, open up the bleeder and face it upward, let the air bubbles out and hold it there until it's dripping new fluid. This saves a little time opposed to what rob said. That's how Hoyt told me to do it after my main cylinder went out beginning of summer. Make sure to keep the reservoir full though also as your doing it.

On the cc rigs you can't get the caliper below the pedal. Or at least I couldn't figure out how to do so

Eff all that pumping and taking shit apart. Invest in a power bleeder! Best 100$ I've spent.
