Post Beavertail phantom
looking to buy a beavertail phantom, just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them. I'd like to pick up a used one. i would need this type layout boat to hunt out of in back water. I'm pretty open to other similar style boats. Any information on them is appreciated. Thanks

I have one I use in rice fields when the ducks get pit shy. Love it. I was killing green heads and sprigs in Jan when the pit hunters couldn't get them to commit. It hides great. It's gonna be tough to find a used one though.

I have the otter stealth boat too. As AKA said very stable. Use it to fish with sometimes too. Here's a pic of mine grassed up.

I'll probably end up just buying a new one. That looks great with the grass mats. I like how they are low profile, the lake I hunt you have to hunt from a boat so I figured id be able to get in some holes my boat can't get into.

What do yall use to paddle them? Kyack paddles or just a one blade boat paddle?
Most of my spots would be less than a 300 yard paddle

Thanks

I'd use a single ore paddle. Easier to slide into the boat, especially if your not going far.

There are benefits to both. I use both of them for different applications. a single paddle is easier to go through some vegetation. However the length of the kayak paddle can be used like a push pole. I have mine camo up and lash it to a tie point and leave it in the water tucked next to the boat. If you plan on grassing yours pm me and I'll explain what I did.
