 Re: starting turnaround tonight
I'm looking at the end of my turnaround now,we are pressured up waiting on the rest of the plant to catch up with us so we can put charge in and get back to normal. I'm ready for this chit to come to an end.

 Re: starting turnaround tonight
Its a Faze that a plant puts a specific unit in! Shut the unit down for repairs that have been much needed, stuff that can't be replaced while the unit is running. It could also be for updates and (tie ins)= new piping coming into the unit. Plants don't usually like to go more than a month on shutting their unit down. Lots of contractors and purging vessels and unit preparation= BIG AZZ HEAD-ACHE

 Re: starting turnaround tonight
All I know is this, TAR = $ in da bank for me . We have another one next year to change out the catalyst in my hydrotreating reactors. This TAR was for several other units in the plant that could not run any longer the way they were. We just had one in 08' for my unit but the engineers were getting crude that had a high silica content and it killed the new catalyst in my hydrocracker reactor so down we went this year. This will be three TARs in about three years.

 Re: starting turnaround tonight
we have outages not turnarounds at my plant but were different. I used to work turnarounds before I went to the nuclear side.
