 Engine 101... no remedial
I have a 36PD that has something wrong. It will run great until I slow down to an idle and it will kill. It will start fine but when I put it in gear it kills at an idle.
I have no idea of what is in a Stage 1, 2 and whatever else is next. My question is will it be cheaper to fix or get a new engine. The motor has close to 300 hrs on it.
Please don't beat up the stupid kid!

First of all it is probably something very simple. What are you rpms on the trailer in neutral? Probably just need to turn them up some. Might need a carb kit.

 Re: Engine 101... no remedial
Forgot to mention that it will backfire frequently when I'm using the "on demand" button to keep it running. Also the dam oil dip stick would never stay down seated. I took it out when running and the engine ran differently. I could feel air coming out of the dip stick hole. Someone told me this means something bad is wrong.

Brought it in and the cylinder is scratched up and apparently its a warranty issue.
