Anyone been out there lately? I am from GA and like to take trips to different areas, but I dont want to come here if I am going to have to move immediately. I am not asking for spots as I have been here in the past. I just am curious if there is enough water to even hunt.

My Grandfather was at a Tony Orlando concert after he passed his 80s. Tony brought him up on stage and asked him where he was from (south louisiana, btw, amite originally but transplanted to central with a stop or two further south). We have it on tape and watch it every Christmas when we're talking about family. Loses a lot in the translation, but it's funny to me lmfao

Does anyone hunt off the river just south of highway 4? I've been looking at the area for years but never got the chance to get up there and hunt. Is it hard to get into the woods from the river in that area?

We put in on the green tree. I have never tried to get there from the river. It's hard for me to get around in there though with my big boat. I have a 1236 with a 9.9 I was considering bringing instead

I have a skinny boat that can make it in the trees I just need to know about how high the river stage needs to be for there to be enough water in the trees.

Not much water so the folks are piled up in one field. Not many birds holding round here anyway because of no water. No water in the timber.

To make it anywhere significant pretty damn high. I run a skinny boat with longtail up into the ditches and normally still have trouble. But I can't remember the river stage number cause I go no matter what and when the boat can't make it I walk the rest of the way. This is for deer and not ducks though.

I want to hunt ducks so getting in there and running out of water would not be good. I'm just trying to get as much info as I can cause I'd hate to drive all the way up there from Houma and be blindsided

This isn't the year to make that trip, unless it comes a hella rain

lol, yea no joke. I got to the ramp a little before five and it looked like the star wars mother ship had landed when i got on top of the levy. I bet there was 75-100 light bars shining

Probably 100 light bars, and only 3 sets of running lights in the whole place.

I bet Funroe is a bitch to hunt now days.

I made a trip up to Mer Rouge last year for a few days, and I stopped by one of my old favorite places to hunt on Hwy 80 on the way home. Looks like LDWF changed the entire layout of the place since I left in 2000. Used to be crazy good back in the day.

I hope all this rain we r about to get puts some water in beouf and catahoula.
