I used to hunt back there a lot. Even had house boats go there to bay Farin via the old Gin Slough. You're too young to know about that though.

But remember that whole area was connected to the Atcafalaya River system before the levees were built and there was lols of commerce traveling through it, so all of the larger bodies of water and the main channels are public waterways anyone can travel or hunt over. I think you know that as well but most don't. So people like me and Mudmotor Slayer can call your bluff in this regard.. This is also why no one will be ticketed for trespassing if you file a complaint. See, this has been the staus quote for years and years. Alleged property rights holders and leases have intimidated the average man into believing that area is locked up and the legend continues. Some of us know better and are making a point to let everyone know about it, too.

I wouldn't normally get involved in such internet nonsense. Especially being 1500+ miles away, but this kinda stuff gets on my nerves. It's hard enough to get permission to hunt, fish, frog or whatever you do for food these days. People start stirring the pot by trespassing, trying to snake leases or whatever kind of drama it is and eventually they just say "fuck it, I don't need this shit" and nobody hunts/fishes it.

Just put the shoe on the other foot for about 5 logical seconds... If you paid money for a lease and were actually having some luck would you want someone slipping in and trying to capitalize on it for free?? I'm not saying that's what anybody is doing but you have to have enough snap to realize it that way...

And while their own mouth has basically invited people to at least be curious about where they are hunting, it doesn't open the door for someone to knowingly trespass. Like I said, I'm not saying you or anyone else is doing that but it's just principle. I know if someone were to show up on my leased land there would be words the first time, and then the GW would be involved. I don't see getting in a fist fight over it either way around though, there's ways around that anyway. However, where we lease land and where you guys lease land is two different situations. Someone would have to TRY to get on our place... No chance of someone just setting up in the wrong spot and being where they shouldn't be. And on top of all of it.... Don't tell anyone where you're killing ducks, hell, that's just common sense with all the DD crew these days.
