 Peacock Bass
Decided it was time for a trip to Miami for some Peacock Bass. They were on the beds so it was a lot of fun.

 Re: Peacock Bass
I hear they fight like a jacked back crackhead! How big do they run size wise here in the good ol' USA? They throw dinosaur sized plugs for 'em in South America...

 Re: Peacock Bass
Our 2010 freeze knocked them back pretty badly, they were as far north as Palm Beach County before that.
Incredibly aggressive. Just when you think you can't retrieve a bait any faster, speed it up a little more. I always liked to burn Rat-L-Traps for them.
You ever fish for snakeheads, Stu? A buddy took me the other day. Real talk, we were the only white people in a 5-mile radius. But I've never seen anything hammer a topwater frog like that. He caught one that was really big.

 Re: Peacock Bass
I love flipping lizards to snakeheads when they are bedding. We have some family land close to home and the lake out there is full of them. Broken many 'a zebco as a little kid fishing for those big bastards. I'll have to find the pic in my phone, but I caught about a 7 lb snakehead on my fly rod last year and it was like I had just hooked a pissed off boat anchor. Took me the better part of a half hour to land him.
