 Fishing question
I have my 5 year old this weekend and want to take him fishing in the new boat.... Either Conroe, Somerville, Trinity River at Wallisville, West Bay--dont care just as long as I'm not driving the little dude more than a couple hours from Cypress.
I dont expect anyone to give out any honey holes, but this is my fourth shot at taking him fishing and he hasn't caught anything yet and is starting to lose interest. I go fishing all the time and dont mind spending the whole day for a half bucket full of fish, but I guess I am looking for a spot with something active where we don't wait all day. If you are a father you understand....If you are one of those guys who is going to be an ass and tell me to scout it out myself just keep it to yourself.
I don't want wall hangers, but I sure would love to have a pic of my son holding his first fish on my desk at work. If you have a decent spot, shoot me a PM. The boy and I sure would appreciate it.

 Re: Fishing question
If I wouldn't have just bought a brand new GD last week - - paying to fish might have been an option

 Re: Fishing question
I fished with a guide on Toledo bend a couple of years ago.it was like 250 for a covered party barge and up to 5 people. Something like that anyways. Get someone else to go in with you.
I know that's not what you asked for but that's all I could contribute.

 Re: Fishing question
Just to get it out there; a worm and bobber will catch something in any body of water in Texas. May not be lunkasaurus, but I damn sure watched an episode of river monsters where that British dude yanked an 8" bream out of a pothole in the middle of the street in downtown Houston.

 Re: Fishing question
If you want some fish action, go to Somerville. The white bass and hybrids are turning on. We went this past weekend and caught probably 200 white bass and a hand full of hybrids and largemouth.

 Re: Fishing question
This time of year we do pretty good on striped bass in deep water. Usually in front of dams. Basically every reservoir with a dam will have them around here. They put up a serious fight too. If you can manage to get into some Kentucky bass, you're in for a fight as well!!! I have been taking my daughter fishing since she was about a year old. They lose interest quick if it's slow but if you can find something else they enjoy on the water then you can still make a trip of it no matter what. For mine, it happens to be riding around counting turtles Productivity-wise, it's hard to beat a baited catfish hole for the kids. They catch fish and you'll probably end up with a decent mess of them enough for supper too

 Re: Fishing question
Found what I was looking for.
Bobbers and worms in Lake Conroe netted some pretty decent cats.

That's awesome. Nothing better than fishing with the kids.
