 Re: Bass frog
I've always been partial to the bronze eye frog that Dean Rohas developed. I own several and have always had good luck with them. I have used frogs and rats for a long time and their hookup ratio is really good, whether in open water or on top of matted grass.

 Re: Bass frog
I have nothing against Ribbits either. Nothing fancy for me. I go with a 4/0 Gamakatsu though.

 Re: Bass frog
Thanks guys! Used both and like'em . The bronze eye is a killer of fish and your wallet lose 2 or 3 of them in a day and you want to cry.

 Re: Bass frog
I e always been partial to the zoom horny toad with a 4 or 5/0 gamakatsu. They dont make the commotion of a ribbit but they have always been more weedless for me. The ribbits feet seem to get stuck sometimes. Count to 2 then cram it home.

 Re: Bass frog
Zoom Horny Toads seem to get the best hookup for me but the Ribbits come in a ton more different colors. The plastic is harder and I miss a few more of the fish who don't commit vs the soft zoom plastic. I fish both of them on a 4/0 gamakatsu or Owner wide gap offset shank worm hook. Killer spring time bait.

 Re: Bass frog
I live here in central florida lol, home of the monster bass. Ive use every frog there is and hands down the black jethro frogs on a light rainy day have givin me some huge bass. Not sure if they are anywhere's else but here in florida but I could be wrong about that.

 Re: Bass frog
I like the spro popping frog but i dont use a popping action i make it walk the dog, it seems to move more water and really shines when you are fishing thick duck weed or lily pads

 Re: Bass frog
http://southernlure.goodbarry.com/tackle_boxI'm a fan of the original Scum Frog myself. You can lose 3 of these to one of those Bronze eyes.

 Re: Bass frog
No doubt, they're all good! I still like the 'ol tried an true Scum frog also. Spro's are good but high as giraffe hoochie and Zooms are fast paced for sure. I haven't seen the Jethro's around here in quite a while but they were good. One of you guys said the Ribbits were tough but that's one reason I like 'em. I poke the hook all the way through and just put the tip back in. Great hookup ratio rigged like that I use 'em a lot as trailers with a Seminole rig for punchin' Whatchoo studying up on frogs for Frog?

 Re: Bass frog
Had real good luck all this week with the strike king frogs. I ran out of my pumpkin/pearl Zoom Horny Toads and started throwing some my brother had with him and did very well.
