 $1500 hog Must be a few of you chase pigs around so I'll share a hunt story.
Took a pack of three second rate borrowed dogs out to my dad's farm on the weekend for a pig hunt. 3 of us guys and 3 likely dogs.
Up in a 400 acre rough block he has on the high side of the block we hunted scrub and tight bush and found a good wollow. Now this farm had only been dogged twice before in 8 years so the rub marks we found were mid thigh high.
My hunting buddy just finished saying I don't think we want to find this monster when a lone dog started barking a 100yards behind us. After a run and a struggle with an unmovable pig we gave up trying to stick it and I shot it twice in the back of the head.
200lbs guts out
Took an hour to drag out.
A vet bill for a gut stuck dog of 1500 we had a thropy hog.
