Hang in there man... The thing to rememder is you can only help someone that really wants to be helped.... And addicts blame everything on everyone else, its the way they deal with their own addiction.... Hang in there B.M.

U can only help someone to a certain extent. I have been going through the same thing with a friend and i have gave up because he doesnt wanna help himself

BM -- You can do nothing -- just like your saying -- anthing that dosent workout just to his plan is your fault when you try to help, How do I know? Imma addict, I been sober 14 years now. It took my dad telling me to get the hell out of his house and dont call him or come by till I decided I wanted some help for real--- Hell I didnt talk to the man for almost 18 months cause I thought he was a dick for tryin to tell me how to live my life, I hurt more people than I care to think about,

All you can do if offer your emotional support, Dont give him any money, a place to stay -- NOTHING --- Tell him if he wants a ride to treatment or AA or NA meeting you will give him one but thats it. he will be pissed off and tell you that your not a good friend BUT it comes a time when you have to protect yourself. One more thing to remember YOU CANNOT KEEP HIM SOBER,

its not your fault you can only help someone so much and i honestly believe you cant help somebody that doesnt want to help themselves

I can tell you what I have learned..................If you help them in any way you become the enabler!! Took me a long time to finally understand that.
