Post Driving lights
What brand of light has everyone had luck with on the cold foggy morns going to your spot? Lights on my boat blow and in the market for something new. Have checked into the southernlite leds and excels but what do you prefer?

Foggy mornings I don't run a thing. If you know your runs good enough you can run with no light easily.

I'll be running an LED light bar with Amber filter this year. I've ran handheld halogen spotlights in the past... But even then I just turned them on real quick to see if anything is in my way and turn it back off. I don't leave it on all the time.

OK sweet! yea I cant say im seasoned at it because I sold my rig 3 years ago and been walking to my spots till this year. Got my boat back so feeling the places out that I used to go to religiously! You have a point about LED in the fog. With my bowfishing deck on and cant turn my LEDs on or I cant see a thing. I will look into yellow tinted lights. Thanks for the idea

Post Re: Driving lights
As was already said i run dark most of the time. I keep the light switch on my boats in a location where i can easily flip it while driving. I'll check from time to time, especially in areas of concern, but in the deep fog i too find lights to be more harm than good. One trick that helps a little is to have one i can adjust and i'll point it down at the water. seems to illuminate better in the deep fog than trying to blast right into it!! I haven't tried the tint cover yet but that makes sense to me too.

as for where or what brands. everyone i know uses the bars off amazon and they work VERY well. mine for my new boat is a 20 inch LED for $35, haven't used it yet though. several buddies run similar and love them. at that price compared to the high $$ ones i'm willing to try it out a season or two....

I have an old fashioned halogen spot light mounted to my bow. It's not overly bright, and I mainly just use it to navigate a boat wide ditch thru very thick cattails.

I run a Rigid light with an amber cover. It does better than anything else I've run but nothin perfect in the fog.
