Went to the ranch 2 weeks ago and got a few nice pics out the truck. Going back to fly it next Monday to get the count and see how much we will take out the fence this year

I know right where Zapata is. We had a tournament on Falcon lake two years back and we stayed there, some really pretty country side and some even prettier deer! And that's some good ones Brandon

Shot a mature 8 with my bow last Thursday night. 12 yard shot...best bow kill to date.

If you hunt where it snows they get over 300lbs

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Buddy of mine just killed a buck that I know went at least 300lbs out of Louisiana.. It was literally the size of a quarter horse and the taxi said it was only 4 1/2.. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

I agree to a point. How many acres? All native deer? Protein? Cottonseed?
Yes all native deer for now. We are looking into buying a few breed does after this year but want to keep the South TX genetics for sure. We feed Protein during the off season and start with corn once we run out of protein just before season.

Looks like some good ole mature south Texas deer. That's an easy 200lb deer in the 3rd and 4th pic.. To many people think Texas is full of scronny little 80lb deer but these pics do them the justice they deserve, best buck I ever killed came from deep south Texas pulling the scale to 220lbs.
Thank you.

Not sure about that one ours is in La Mota. I haven't been around Zapata that much. My dad has hunted quite a few places around there though. All I know is about 7 other ranches in the area

It was a very, very large ranch. From the front gate to camp was about a 30 minute drive through 2 other properties and like 7 other gates.

I am waiting on the day that bullets and arrows with have tiny cameras in the points to record the shot all the way to impact.
