How do you guys wire up your boat radios? Do you include any devices to keep from running your battery down to far. It's not going to be an elaborate setup but want to wire it correctly and not end up stranded due to a dead batt.

Bluetooth with amp and speakers and amp? (how I have mine now)

Going to be running 2 Polk 6x9s. Haven't picked out a head unit yet. Probably no amp at this point. I'm not shooting for an ear bleeder of a system. Just something to listen to when I take the family to the lake and hang out. Gonna try to get a unit I can hook my phone or mp3 player to. My last unit had a slot for a flash drive that was nice but it crashed on me.

I got an Ion job box and I love it. You can Bluetooth it to your phone or iPod and it's plenty loud enough. Doesn't take up much room, battery lasts about 14 hours, and I can take it to the pool, shop, or wherever I wanna go with it. Almost loud enough to hear at wfo, plenty good for now fishing idling around

I'd get something with Bluetooth. Just one of the small round receivers would work fine. An aux cord gets aggravating

This is kind of the direction I was thinking of going. Speakers to the side. I have them ordered and will cut and weld up the mounting plates when I can see what size cutouts will be. Was thinking about recessing the head unit under the front. It would be out of the way, out of the weather and won't have to run a bunch of wires back to my driver box. Just get a Bluetooth amp and you'll never see anything but your speakers. Your phone will be like a tv remote for the whole thing.

Wetsounds ultra v2 is 750 bucks. It's only a 300 watt system. You could buy a pair of marine, quality 6x9's and 6" speakers and a 4 channel Bluetooth amp for that price.... with more power and arguably better sound. A sound bar is convenient as hell though.

The speakers are pd for. I'll either go with a head unit or bluetooth amp. Really would like the option to use a thumb drive. I like to have my phone out as little as possible. I don't have good luck with phones and water.

I got a sony unit off of sonic electronics for 135 bucks it is marine grade. I installed satellite radio and I can either blue tooth my phone or plug it in via USB. U won't be able to hear it while ur driving though with just 2-6x9s in the front

I have (4) 7.7 inch coaxial and (1) 10 inch sub. I have one amp for the sub and one for the 4 coaxials. They run to a passive equalizer. From there it goes to a 3.5mm plug that I plug an ipod into.

Do you already have the speakers? If not, I suggest 6" round marine speakers and put 6" PVC on the back with a cap. I did that on my old boat and it sounded great. I had a small amp that I just plugged the phone into first then installed a head unit with a remote later in the front like you're thinking. It was way better.

just put this in my Polaris and it impressed me. So I got a Bluetooth one like it for my sons Golf cart

I've had this mounted on my ATVs handlebars for 2+ years now, no problem. I did paint them black. I'm going to put something like this in the new boat as well, out side of hunting season. Small 600 watt amp with blue tooth connection. It also has auxiliary inputs if you need them.
