Put the GT to work this past Saturday and rode out to the house. The water line on the house was just over the door knob, so about 4 1/2 feet deep in the house when it crested. Hard to say exactly how high above normal, but I'm guessing about 13 feet. Our place is on the highest piece of ground out there. Everything that was below that line is pretty much trashed. The wife took video before we vacated, so we have a decent record of what was there.

Hoping now that this next system doesn't give Toledo Bend the chance to do an anchore performance.

I gotta laugh about it or else just stay pissed off. FEMA is diverting anyone who has insurance or is capabler of financing their recovery to the Small Business Administration to apply for a disaster home loan. After talking to the SBA, it turns out that they are offering two different interest rates. 1.something. if you are completely wiped out with no resources, and 3.something if you are financially secure and can afford to pay for a loan. I thought that was f%#*#@g hilarious! So basically, the better your debt to income and credit score, the more you pay!!!! Thank you B.O.!!!

And all that does is bring the middle class down. I am all for helping people. But we need a more fair system. Let it be the same for everyone. A low interest loan spread over a lot of years is ok by me (take out the compound interest even). Let everyone pay the same.

Sorry to hear about all your loses down there - try to remember it is only "stuff" and stuff can be replaced no matter how painful it is or how long it takes. We went through 4 "100 year" floods in the upper midwest in about 10 years not to long ago, it is a long recovery process.

I had the chance to visit with John and Paula Godwin from West Monroe last weekend at our show in South Carolina, their area got hit pretty hard as well.

Phowler Boats is organizing volunteers to travel to West Monroe in April to help with the recovery efforts. We had alot of folks help us out in 1993, 1996, 2001 and 2013 and our hearts go out to all of you down there and we feel compelled to do something to help. Wish we could do more for you all.
