 Anyone run a 18' 44" go devil?
Looking at an 18' 44" go devil. I have a 23 GDSD that I would be hanging on the back of it. I know a good bit about these boats just wondering if anyone runs this set up or something similar. Expected speeds? I know it will take a load well. Thanks in advance!

That's going to be a lot of boat for a 23. Look into the GD 1644 for your small block.

Great boat. I wish I hadn't sold mine sometimes. I ran a 25 long tail and ran 18-20 empty. I was close to buying a modded 23 sd to put on mine but decided to sell everything and start over to get a 35. It's a light boat if you get all the waterlogged foam out should do ok empty but I doubt it would perform worth a shit loaded down.

In a Longtail, I wouldn't be scared of the 23, but the SD is gonna work it's ass off and won't push anywhere close to the load that boat will carry.

I run and 18x44 with a 35 surface drive. Hull is a 1999 model that is only 0.100" thick on the bottom. Hull is hooked a little at the transom. I get 26 with just me, 6 gallons of gas up front and 2 batteries, one up front and one back. Floor and front foam removed. 24 with 3 guys and a hunt load.

I have an 18X44 GD hull with a 29hp mud buddy longtail. Runs 17 with me alone with gas and two batteries, but add another person and it drops to about 14. Its slow but hauls a load well. Ive had 3 guys, 4 dozen decoys, a kayak and lots of other gear and i got 10 mph in 4" of water with a soft bottom.

18x44 (2003 hull) MBLT 29hp (2005), runs 16-17 empty with just me, fuel, 2 batteries, and fishing gear..... 3 days of hunting gear and 20 gallons of fuel (plus 2 ice chest), 15mph..... 3 people and frogging gear 12 mph.... Not the fastest but very comfortable to run and never have issues going where I want to go
