Got my 23 Copperhead surface drive with Mikuni carb and BPS exhaust.

Headed out to my fishing spot yesterday and cruised over a thick mossy patch on plane, knocked the prop out of the water (didnt hit hard log or anything prop just flew out over grass), motor got away from me a bit as they'll do.

I got prop back in the water and the sound of the motor got really high pitched. There was no difference in performance the motor just sounded real high pitched.

On my way back turnin @4300, something on motor makes loud snap and motor cuts out. I lift prop out of the water and gas drips out of the bottom of the engine.

Any ideas out there that could help narrow down the issue before I start taking things apart?

My thoughts are maybe broken rod or something else broke in the head, maybe blown cylinder?

Cant get shit for help anytime I try and contact copperhead they hardly answer nor respond to my email.. and theres no mud motor mechanics in Fort Worth LMAO

wont turn on left cylinder trys to turn on right. does it sound like I blew a cylinder?

You pull the valve covers and see if you dropped anything? Rods, bent valves? Will it free spin?

pulled the valve covers. from what it looks like no rods are bent or broke but havent pulled them out yet. Im gonna keep digging in the morning.
