Re: outboard leg mud motor(now running 26 briggs)
Followed the blessing of the fleet today, had a fun ride.even towed a jetski for about 1/2 mile and a 24 ft aluminium boat. She ran pretty well today, had carb /float issues.....but i made it back home without using the paddle.

Re: outboard leg mud motor(now running 26 briggs)
With the great outcome of the 26....time to start briggszuki build. 140 cc briggs with steel flywheel,6lb steel coupling on a early 80s 9.9 suzuki. Total weight of 42 lbs. Need to get coupling bored to 7/8 id,build a tiller handle and throttle. All easy to do.

Re: outboard leg mud motor(now running 26 briggs)
Coupling made and installed, gonna build a tiller handle next. If this 4 hp aint enough.....i have a 7 hp ready to bolt on.
Coupling made,everything welded and bolted.

Ran the 26 today,1 person 19 mph,2 adults and 4 kids n fishin gear 15 mph....not bad at all for such a heavy load.

Re: outboard leg mud motor(now running 26 briggs)
Thanx I definatly get alot of stares. Most people cant believe a stock 26 intek with 400 hours pushes this boat so well. A 36 briggs would be badarse on this setup. I plan on adding a skeg to the bottom of the hull, maybe try to raise motor up 2 inches so the bigger wheel can surface drive some. That should help pickup some more rpm and speed. But at the moment setting her up to pull a 28ft trawl for the season. Id get a chance to go play in 10-12 inches of water,my power trim motor is out so i didnt push my luck.plowed through with no issues. The heavy coupling helped increase the motors torque....i think thats why she does so well on a heavy boat.

Re: outboard leg mud motor(now running 26 briggs)
Thanx for the bump, but nothing much going on. I did get the throttle in,aint hooked it up yet.still gotta get motor back up n running and build a boat. Im planning a flat bottom lafitte skiff style hull with flared bow. Somethin 13-14 ft long, open hull.....maybe 250 lbs max weight empty. Im shooting for 12-15 mph from this little motor. I could get more speed from a 12 ft rivited alumicraft....but dont have $800 to spare. I already have glass n wood lying around.even have acess to a nice mudboat mold.
