 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
I have been trying to get in contact with them for a quote with no responses. I just got informed on Facebook they are no longer in business. Not sure why, but they had some good looking boats.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
His customer service was bad and his work wasn't great either. People were having problems with his welds cracking.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
I don't own a Prodigy, but they sure are a good looking rig. They are the first boat I had seen with the revolutionary under catwalk expanded metal storage shelf.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
In F & F's defense, I wouldn't necessarily say he was "copying" prodigy. A custom boat is just that, custom built to the buyers specifications, wants and needs. Now if the customer requested something that just so happens to be seen on prodigy boats, then I suppose you could say the customer himself is "copying" another builder. Prodigy and other builders probably do have things they consider their own trademarks, but the majority of things we seen on these "name brand" boats are probably things they have even seen elsewhere and ideas customers have desired on their hulls.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
Gatortails quotes even say "Like prodigy" on certain options but I guess that's not copying.

DFOU
Exactly since everybody does it in a way. Then why does prodigy get blasted so much ?
The 2014 comment was hilarious by the way
Prodigy Does some things cosmetically that I like that nobody else can match or at least I haven't seen them match it. Just my opinion
I know you can't reinvent the wheel so why give prodigy so much hell over something everybody does?

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
Maybe I can make it make sense for you. When a man decides he's gonna start building wheels and calls, texts and emails every wheel maker he can find for help to build a wheel or two and asks to visit a large scale wheel shop on the premise of buying there wheels then a short time later after he's built just a few wheels he's on a pedestal with a megaphone blasting the Interwebs about how he's the best wheel builder in 52 or more states and how he's invented several other revolutionary round objects to roll things that look just like previous wheels but claims no one has every built a round wheel like object such as this one it's tends to gets under people's skin. Hell he got bashed on the MB pages years ago for trying to get ideas from there wheel builder but that was probably before November 2014 so you may have missed it..... Maybe you get the point maybe not.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
dfou, I started this thread because im searching for a quality builder at the most reasonable price. I'm looking to build within the next year, so if at all interested, pm me for my email and I'd love to get a quote.

 Re: Fins and Feathers Boats
I would like to know what was the first "custom boat company" out there? And if they aren't still in business who's been around the longest that's still around?
