Looking hard at them. Looking for something that doesn't drink gas, can still fish shallow water inshore and run a couple miles offshore or to the islands on a good day. Going to stay in the 18-16ft range. Any of you guys run one or have experience? Also where is a good place to get one for a good deal besides Mexico. I really like the 18ft Evo and the andros backwater 18 but don't have a load of money to spend at the moment.

Friend of mine had a 18ft panga with a 75etec and it ran pretty good. Would run mid-high 30's and pretty shallow. That etec drank though.

Yeah it was smooth on the chop but got wet every once and awhile. It had a real real low transom and big huge bow flare

My buddy has a 21' Panga. I have some hours at the helm. Handles chop really well. Not too bad on gas. Tracks almost too straight for slow speed maneuvering. Not my favorite boat but he really likes it. Not sure where he got it but he has had it for a while.

Imemsa or Panga USA can get you a boat in various levels of finish (no floor or console all the way up to ready for motor). They're incredible boats. Really aren't ever going to get into seas too rough for them. Fuckers chase down tankers 100 miles offshore of Somalia in pangas with a tiller outboard. Im not a huge fan of them just cuz of how narrow they are with a console. As far as a big-water capable boat that can get up in the skinny water, you're really not going to beat them for the money.

I too would buy one if a good deal came before me. I would like a 20-24 footer or bigger. Should be a good winter rough water boat.
