 Upper Seal????
PD36, draining my lower unit oil(I just had PD do the lower unit conversion) and noticed that the oil was VERY grey in color. Wondering if I caught the upper seal being bad at just the right time before it became a mess???
I know it cannot be the lower seal since the lower unit it grease reservoir is separated from the lower unit oil.
But if the upper seal was bad, wouldnt grease find its way into the lower unit oil??
Also, how hard is it to replace the upper seal. Remove the power head, but how does the seal remove? Can I send it to PD to have them install the seal in seal housing so I dont have to worry about the seal getting all f'd up pressing it in place? I know this can be done with the lower seal, but was not sure if PD would do this for the upper seal.
Thanks
