Post 37 EFI HDR speeds
Thinking about getting a 37hp HDR. Wondering what size boat some of y'all are running them on, what kind of speed your getting, and how some of the upgrades are helping with speeds and load carrying capabilities.

Gotcha that's pretty damn good for a stock motor! Any issues with the motor yet or any negatives about it?

Yeah that's a big blade prop. Anyone running BPS upgrade packages?

Yea, I have 1854 prodigy elite with the barracuda 5. Runs 31 with myself, cooler, full tank, and odds/ends. Will run 28 bump 29 with 3 people (260,240,150), cooler, and fishing stuff in deep water.

So it definitely helps carry a load better...28 is pretty good for a decent size load in a 1854.

It runs strong. The slowest it's ran with that 3 person load is 27 in pretty bad conditions. The guys at delta seem to be getting more HP out of heads, cam, exhaust, and tuner. I'd like to try their recipe at some point

Any difference in pricing between bps and delta mods?

Deltas recipe is pretty nice.

Its their efi package. They call it level 3 but its basically stage 2 but onstead of mikuni your efi gets dyno tuned. Its .305 cam, jamie b's magical heads, voodoo and tuned.

Its a stout motor. Still starts right up and idles like stock but its a beast. I gained around 3-4 mph empty but load carrying(which was my goal) is ridiculous.

I'll probably get with them at some point, but at this point I'd be just as well to add pistons/rods to my barracuda kit

My delta motor picked up 16hp and 7.2 mph over stock.

I don't doubt it. For me though already having the barracuda just finishing with rods and Pistons would be cheaper than doing a whole new set up. If I were starting from scratch I'd definitely go with delta. The bps heads are decked just .020 so I don't think rods/Pistons would make it that unreliable. I could be wrong though, I'm pretty new to mud motors

Definitely sounds like delta is the way to go. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Hope to get my 37 HDR in a couple weeks!
