 briggs 31hp whats the story on the briggs 31? i have a 24 longtail and have been looing for a 35 sd but found a 31 hyperdrive and just havent heard much about these motors. are they the same block as the 35? do parts interchange? any help is appreciated. thanks

Re: briggs 31hp Same block different oil passages to the main bearings. 31 main bearings are oiled through the crank, 35 is oiled through the block. If you put a 35 crank in a 31 block it will seize up due to the front main bearing not getting oil. Everything else is the same except rods and crank, 31 has a shorter stroke. Also wouldn't recommend mixing 31&35 crank and flywheel, you will have vibrations
