My motor is all stock and on a gatortrax boat. Went for about an hour long trip through the backwaters. I had coolers and other stuff, my wife and two kids who are 2 and 6, and 2 other kids in the boat. Weighing a good amount I went with it and surprisingly the boat was doing fairly good running around 23-24 or so. About half way through the trip, while hitting my same rpms as before (4000) I was only running 16-17. I ended up stopping at some point, and got back on plane and it ran like a scolded dog back at 23-24. What Happened? What could it be? Is there something out of adjustment? It has about 100 hrs on it.

Check valves, make sure fuel is good, check for air leaks in the fuel line. Check for air leaks in the intake/Carb.
I don't know what causes what you are describing.

But those are the first things I'd check.

If your rpms stayed the same then i cant call that a loss of power. Any chance it just had a bit grass etc stuck on shaft in front of prop?

Maybe deeper water wen it was running slow?

Deeper water, rougher water, current, wind...something that was just enough to keep you from getting completely up on plane. Probably not an issue with the motor.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping no issues. I guess I should be able to tell for sure next time I run it without a heavy load.
