Gatortail 37 efi e reverse
Anyone have the new motors with the e reverse? How do you like it and any issues with it?

What should he be concerned about with the new EFI GTR? Lower unit cast? Wiring harness?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Electric reverse has been out since around 2013 ish on console models. They are good units with a forwards clutch and a reverse clutch that acts as a brake. So far they are holding up well. The frame is the least of your worries with a GTR.
I think he's referencing the Briggs EFI. Give it time, and they'll have it right. You can find new people - everyday - here and on Facespace telling their stranded by EFI stories.

I have been in contact with a few reputable sources on how to get a GOOD repair on the harness. It can be fixed, but you have to isolate the issue then make the proper repair. I suggest bringing your rig to a service center if you need help. It will be taken care of at no cost you more than likely with an EFI issue.

I'd build a whole new harness.

Re: Gatortail 37 efi e reverse
Is the problem at the connector that plugs directly into the ecm or something? If it's somewhere else in the harness, I'd replace the connectors and everything.

Re: Gatortail 37 efi e reverse
Connection at the High pressure fuel pump is one culprit. connection at relay box is an issue aswell. Bad grounds and power lugs are addressed at the factory when the engine is assembled. Not like you can change the plug type on the HPFP cause it is molded into the unit itself. I do see the wire size being TOO SMALL as an issue. These things all have there share of vibrations so overall it takes its toll and small wire size will eventually fail at a terminal.
