The 37 PD does not push the 1854 X-Series boat that well. I am all over the place with mine with a Gen 4. I'm running between 26.5 and 28.0 solo with the 1854. My motor on the 1848 X-series ran 30 consistently

That's kind of where I'm at. I can get maybe 26-27 in real shallow water solo. I put any weight in the boat and it falls on its face and loses about 4mph. Hopefully they can get me in soon and I can update on how it runs after the stage 3 kit.

How can you find out what Gen the lower is? Just got my 37 pd efi last week and sounds like I have a Gen 3, slow as all get out taking off and solo getting 24mph on a gator trax 1754.

My 1848 Geaux hull, w/ 36 gen II PD & q exhaust will run 19-20 mph at 3500rpms spinning a worn stumpy prop with 5 people at 850 lbs, avery blind, 6 gals fuel, and one battery, upstream on the Mississippi.

Is this good or bad based off the new stuff out there?

Just an update on the situation. I went out the other week with about 750lbs in the boat and it couldn't get over 15mph. Brought it into shop and there was over 70% leakage in all cylinders. They ended up replacing the valves, exhaust, and some other stuff.

Took the boat out yesterday and I was getting 30mph unloaded.

Well glad it sounds like you got it sorted out, had shop do leakdown and compression test on mine and everything was good. Which has everyone scratching their heads, including Briggs. Idle rpms are around 1400-1500. Motor won't crank up without giving a little throttle, have to keep rpms raised when shifting into gear otherwise will die. Can't read diagnostics on motor either, Briggs sent a new wire and will check again today.

UPDATE:

Got my boat back from Delta Performance today. Got the stage 3 kit installed, but don't have my worked prop yet. With the stock prop we had a full fishing load in the boat with 3 people and were pushing 31 hitting the rev limiter. Took a spin solo with fishing load and was running 32 bouncing the rev limiter.

Much more power on take off and all around. Took it through some nasty stuff and it powered through easily. Pretty happy with the work Delta did so far.

there is a reason the people who sell mudmotors build their own boats. it's because that is what works with their engine.
people who get these bigazz or crazy designed boats, slap a lawnmower engine powered mm on it, and cry about the performance need to go suckstart a shotgun.
