 2014 35hp Vanguard godevil idle
New owner of a 2014 GoDevil 18x60 w/35 Vanguard.
Wondering about idle RPM's. Currently at 815 which seems high for idling through clean water.
What should the RPM's be?
How often do the valves need adjusting?
Thanks all!

I set a new one up this weekend. Any lower than that and the motor was on the verge of death. I was advised just over 1k out of water will put you near what you have in water - which is a good number.

X2 your idle sounds good. Supposed to check/adjust valves every 50 or so.

Re: 2014 35hp Vanguard godevil idle
Owners manual says 1100 out of water and 900 in the water. So maybe increase the idle just a hair. http://www.godevil.com/wp-content/uploa ... mplete.pdfSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: 2014 35hp Vanguard godevil idle
I'd let it roll just where it is unless you have issues with it stalling. Being 100-150 RPM higher than exactly where you want to be through clean water will allow you to idle thru some vegetation, etc without stalling.
My EFI GDSD idles at 725 when its hot. But maintains that when idling thru grass or whatever.

Thanks fella's, huge help! Now that we have the manual we're all set. Thanks for that dem0001!
We also found the motor manual online which is also a huge help. The godevil one is pretty generic.

From my understanding there are different model numbers? Here's the link: http://rich.homeunix.com/gravely/pro16/ ... RATTON.pdfSent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: 2014 35hp Vanguard godevil idle
The motor internals are all the same. One of the many variants in the model numbers is the style of air filter/intake/throttle linkage.
