Post 35HP Replacement Help
Got a Mudbuddy 7000 with a 35hp Vanguard that's seized up. Ran the date code on the Briggs block and says it was produced in Dec 2008.

Looking to get a replacement for this motor, but my current Vanguard 35 has two intakes coming out through the blower housing and then also has dual exhaust coming out the back side.

I've attached a picture i found from the internet showing my set up. My actual motor is currently in pieces.

Does anyone know an exact replacement that supports a setup similar to this? I've found other 613477-XXXX motors but none seem to be the same..

Also, I've looked into the short block route and would prefer to not go that route if I don't have to

Your motor has an aftermarket intake to allow the dual carbs.

613477 the motor you want. The XXXX represents a lot of different variables, including air filter style, throttle linkage, charging system, coils, etc.

The actual rotating assembly of the engine is the same. Anything you buy, you will have to take the intake off your existing motor in order to run the dual carb setup.

Check out some post here discussing model numbers:

You have an aftermarket carb setup. Throttle linkage from the stock engine is irrelevant. You can reuse the black housing off the old engine, and any other parts (governor block, fuel pump, etc) as necessary. The crankshaft size will be the major difference to create issues. The new engine will be cdi. My engine code is 0121-e1, and it's a Non-cdi, 2010 model. There are lots of them that have the correct crank for this application.

1-1/8th x 4 is typically the correct output crank.

If you use Google and add "site:mudmotortalk.com" to the end it is much easier to search. The search feature everyone gets referred to on this site is awful.

Your mb7000 has special rods, pistons , cam and heads. I would consider replacing entire engine or talking to a shop that will rebuild yours. Those carbs bolted onto a new stock engine wil not be happy.

Yes you prob have some parts with value. Bolting on a new engine you will need to swap your lower gear out to make up for 15 ish less hp

on the off chance you still have this engine. I am interested in buying everything you have extra. Assuming the price is something we can agree upon.
