 Re: Pro-Drive won't go over 15mph
Trim up till the prop starts to cavatate then bump it down a tad. The friction knob is to hold a slight tension if you have a manual reverse and trailoring. Just keep it tight enough not for it to fall out but not too tight to where you feel it when you turn the motor

Get your dealer to show you how to run it

Unfortunately they're 2hrs away and didn't give me any kind of manuals. Fortunately, there is a wealth of knowledge on here.

 Re: Pro-Drive won't go over 15mph
in that vidieo you are running with the motor trimmed down. why?
trim it up till u are turning 3700-3800 rpm's and then play with it to find the sweet spot. it should b throwing a rooster tail, but not so much that it is hard to steer.
it usually takes the average person 30 to 50 hours to get used to and figure out their motor.
some folks never do. lol
manual isn't necessary, just use some common sense and it will be fine. the best way to learn is to get stuck and then dig yourself out.
get out there and go run that thing and work it out!!!!!!!

I bet that was a disappointing test run.

 Re: Pro-Drive won't go over 15mph
You definitely need more weight up front. To simplify where you need to trim, this is a surface drive, not an outboard. When you are running, the nut that holds the prop on should but at the water surface where the prop is running half in and half out to be a good starting point. With that being said, and looking at how high the front of the boat was, you probably can't do that right now. The hull is like a see saw, too much weight in the back and that back digs down in the water, you want it running close to flat. Move what you can up front and level her out some more and try again.

 Re: Pro-Drive won't go over 15mph
your biggest problem is that 1542 lowe boat. it's too short. gonna be azz heavy and a pig with some weight in it. I ran a motor like yours for years on a 20x44 skiff and it was butter.
