Post Intake vs exhaust valve lash
First, yes I've already searched MMT, and even used Google/MMT search with no luck. I have a cpl of local race engine builders that suggested that I set my intake and exhaust valve different (more on the exhaust side). They said they build better power in their modded motors when they set exhaust side .002 or so more than intake. At the present time I'm running .005 on both; motor is 2015 GT 35, carb, exhaust, DPE heads, polished and matched intake and adapter. Since I'm not running a cam (yet) should I set intake at .004 and exhaust at .006?

Did you ask DPE what they recommend?

I tried to call Hoyt at GT today but called past closing time, and I figured with the LA split opening in the morn most would be at camp so I did not hit DPE up yet.

A large gap will allow a longer dwell time when closed, which can help with heat transfer.

Well I made the change today and the motor seems to be better (in driveway), but I did not get a chance to run it top to bottom in water.
