 13hp Predator
Is there one better than the others, like there is with the "hemi" 6.5hp?
I need one to power a pump and noticed that there are 2 non "CARB" versions and they have drastically different valve covers.
Thanks!

 Re: 13hp Predator
Some guys run them on the kart tracks around me. I've never heard talk of a different type version. If youre using it for a pump, I don't think that you could go wrong with either of them.

 Re: 13hp Predator
That was what I was thinking, but if one design is better, that is the one that I would want, since this pump will run WOT for 15+ hrs.
This is an experiment and I am trying to save money on the engine to make sure it is feasible. I am powering a Berkeley 4" irrigation pump and I am using an electric clutch on it. I talked to Berkeley and the tech repeatedly told me I only needed 12hp to run it under full load. I have a 6" powered by a Kubota 3cyl diesel I salvaged from a construction light tower that had a short in the generator. I would love to find another Kubota, but I ain't paying the ridiculous prices people are asking for them.
Thanks for the help.

 Re: 13hp Predator
I have a harbor freight 3'' trash pump that I've drained quite a few swimming pools with and have had no problems. That motor/pump is 5 or 6 years old and still runs well.
I've been using the 212cc 6.5HP predators on race karts for years now with very few issues - even when built for 8,000RPMS and 20+ horse power.
Cheap motor cloned off a proven Honda design. Great value.
