My 19 year old sisters house got broken into yesterday.The thieves had the nerve to go into a upscale neiborhood in Baton Rouge and kick the patio doors in on three houses between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00 pm on saturday.All that they got from her was a 60 in. plasma and a mac. laptop.the cops said that her house was the last to be hit due to it having a alarm system.They also said that it only took them 6 minutes from the time that they got the call to get to the home and the thieves were already long with the goods.

What I want to know is how in the fuck does one get a 60 in plasma hanging over a fireplace 10 feet from the floor in less than 6 minutes.It took my brother and I over a hour to hang the damn thing.

might be 6 min from the time the alarm co. called the police. but how long from the time the alarm went off till they called? they want to call the house to find out if it was the home owner. then they call the police. ive seen as long as 30 min before they call the local police. i would say a good time for them would be 10 min.

Marcus, BR is experiencing a rash of these burglaries all over. I attended a civic organization meeting a couple weeks ago where the neighborhood had been hit 13 times. All the same M.O.

In & out in a few mins & long gone by the time police are notified. Having an alarm only helps you determine what time the burglary happened. Those without find out about it when they get home. I've talked to the detectives working the cases, & as of then there were no vehicle descriptions to look out for. They've set up stake outs & increased patrols, but can't seem to catch a break. Sooner or later they'll slip up. But in the meantime it's very frustrating.

I heard the same in Asc parish. They had a string of break-ins a few months ago, but one of the guys was sitting in his chair when they kicked the door in - boom shot the negro dead. They have since had a few, but not in the same area.

My neighborhood gets patrolled a lot, but I still don't like that my place sits empty all day while I'm at work paying their welfare and gas money for them to come steal my stuff. Just MO

I have an alarm and some expensive locks on the doors, but alarms and heavy duty doors only keep the honest man out. If they want your stuff and you are pretty well locked up then they have been watching and studying your house and the hours that you are there. They are going to get your stuff if they want it bad enough!

i'd rather breathe the air from dow than the 2 garbage landfills in livinston parish.. jus sayin.
