 Re: Freedom outboards
I never was the juiciest raisin in the box, so explain how that differs from a traditional outboard. I am guessing it's a water cooled upper retrofitted to a surface drive lower? Or vise versa?

 Re: Freedom outboards
Too bad that camo doesn't match my boat!
The cooling system is mounted inside the boat. Read somewhere that its a Tohatsu outboard with a modified lower unit without a water pickup, because of the closed loop cooling system.

 Re: Freedom outboards
They have a website up with alot of info on them now. Says on their website that they are the shit and better than any other "old style" surface drive in every aspect...think it also said they are way tougher than any others available..they should send me one to test, i give it a few hours. Ive been known to break things..... https://www.freedom-outboard.com/freedo ... rd-motors/

 Re: Freedom outboards
Notice how not a single video shows the inside of the boat and the cumbersome cooling system?

 Re: Freedom outboards
I'd like all the details on this thing though. I even like this more than that Hoss drive. Seems most practical and most quiet.

 Re: Freedom outboards
Exactly, plus I want to stay with a tiller. This thing is headed in the direction I'm most interested in at the moment.
Any way you look there are good things happening.

 Re: Freedom outboards
If all your your running is soft bottom marsh where theres not much stumps or logs to hit I think it would be the caddy of duck boats...i dont think it would last a day in a stumpy environment.

 Re: Freedom outboards
We run pretty clean stuff for the most part. I don't worry at all with my current motor when I hit logs or stumps, I'd be concerned with that freedom. I think it'd work most of the time, but that every so often I'd hate to be tearing stuff up.
