Adding flush mount lights on transom
Looks like I'm going to be stuck with my grizzly one more season (wife wants a new Tahoe). Wanted to add shark eye navigation lights and some flush mounted square lights in the back of the transom. I figured if I mount them high enough where water won't get to them an then silicone/seal the area once mounted any water that gets that high won't make it in... and cons of doing this, will it make the transom loose an strength? Thanks

Re: Adding flush mount lights on transom
Questions: 1. what size of hole? 2. what will you actually cut out of transom to make hole? 3. why not surface mount of some kind? they do make them but the "wattage" is less??? 4. why do you want them or what are they going be used for? I've got a hunt deck and have a set but have been very hesitant to "cut" the holes. New boat and all. BTW A wife should not mess with a mans boat buying! Then again I am on my 3rd wife , but I have had several more boats than wifes!

I had some added to my Go Devil. They were made by WC Customs . IMG_1227.JPG

I took out all the flotation. The floor weighed around 300 pounds.

I took out all the foam and made storage in the pods and had a gas tank built for the front.

Re: Adding flush mount lights on transom
I installed some "Extreme LED" brand flush mount lights into my transom just before duck season last year. I cut mine in above the waterline and siliconed the piss out of them. You will just have to nut up and cut big holes in your boat unless you do what Flaryan did.
The lights were a great addition to the boat. I can now see when backing down unlit boat ramps, they are a great help when tossing out decoys and I also run them when bowfishing. Overall I'm pretty happy with the addition and think it was money well spent.
