PD wont start after 6 hr drive up north
After a 6 hr drive on the trailer it wont start. Gives one short rev and quits. Plug was fouled and after a few key turns, remove both plugs, gas was dripping out one of the cylinders.
Other than clean the plugs up and waiting till its no longer flooded, any other suggestions to get on the water?
Thanks

Any possibility that your tank was not vented that whole trip? With the gas moving around, could cause pressure in an unvented tank, causing the fuel to push through the carb. just a thought..

Nope it is always vented. The tab was removed after buying it. I removed the plugs, cleaned, let it sit and a couple of quick key turns with no plugs. After an hour it started right up. Let the vacation begin. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

Re: PD wont start after 6 hr drive up north
sometimes when I haul azz down the levee and it's real rough, I have to pull my plugs and spin the motor over and blow gas out the cylinders before I can start the motor. then it runs fine all day.
it did this like 2 years ago. I changed the carb and it never did it again.

Seen some funky issues before that was unexplainable... changes the float needle and things got better. Used carbs for these things are a dime a dozen...

This was on the trailer. Next time may want to disconnect the gas line and figure out a way to cap the disconnected line.
Thanks All

Dang, you're in Wisconsin and you drove 6 hours north? I'd be curious if you unplug the gas line on the way back south, and it does, or doesn't, do the same thing.

Could you install a inline on/off valve? Or is it more of the gas still in the engine causing the issue?

It's the pressure in the tank from all the sloshing around and heat forcing gas through the line into the engine.

Re: PD wont start after 6 hr drive up north
Just disconnect the line or leave the cap cracked so pressure doesnt build.
