well, I missed one this weekend as well. Apparently this TSS isn't all it's cracked up to be. I won't lob up a 55 yard shot again. I'll make sure he's in my wheel house next time.

I did get your message you sick bastage! :?

Lessons learned!
Our season ends on May 2nd and I don't think I'm gonna get another hunt in! Tryin' to plot & scheme so I can get another crack at 'em. The fever has come over me!

I'll say it -- and take full ownership of it.

I missed a jake.
Twice.

Sucka came into the field and there was no way we were going to let him show us what was what ... so I launched a shot at him at right around 80 yards. In the moments immediately following the trigger pull, my brain processed the fact that I in no way inflicted any harm to the bird, and that I only had one more turkey shell in my possession, and that the season would most likely end before I had another chance to hunt, so I did the only rational thing -- I shot again. He was probably 95-100 yards at this point.

Good times.

From there, we proceeded to put a beat-down on the local crow population.

nah - shooting the 3 1/2" heavy shot #6.

Like I told y'all, he came in there bee-bopping along like he owned the joint. Rod wanted me to make it clear to the turkey that in fact, he didn't.

I feel confident that our young turkey friend learned his lesson.
