If an engine ran constantly at 3500 rpms and the reduction is a 2:1. The prop is a 9x6. The known hours on the motor are 892.4 assuming you travel the atchafalya river how many times would one make it to myette point to berwick and back? Part B) How much gas will you burn? Part C) How much beer does that take?

Checked lower unit oil last night and realized it was pretty much all milky. Drained it and replaced it . I'm guessing my seal is bad , is this covered under warranty ? PD 36 - purchased October 2010.

I am going to repost my question in this thread.
Well have done some lurking on here and other forums and have run into a question. On the gear ratio of a belt driven sd. 18 Kohler magnum, hill 10x8 prop,1542 lowe. How many teeth on the engine and how many teeth on the bottom would be ideal for some of you that have built you own or messed with the gearing on sd's. Thanks for any input. Let us Know if we left somthing out.

I run 10 x 8 props with a Robin 14 HP at 1 1/2 to 1 reduction. For 18 HP I would probably bump it up to 10 x 10 for starters.

branston0311 mine is a 2011 36hp pd and i had the same problem with mine and i called pd and was told that if you back the boat in the water to fast at a steep launch water would enter the vent and go inside the gear case.

Even though I pulled the zerk out and put it on the grease gun and grease came out of the zerk? What made me check it out is I got my buddy to change my lower unit oil and after I went run it and now when I put the boat in the water and put it in gear it's making a we are sound almost like a electric motor friction noise behind that grease zert so I'm worried that maybe I didn't have enough grease in there? Wat do I do should I try a new grease zerk maybe
