 Pulling Flywheel - Help
I need to pull the flywheel off my 23 vanguard. I've got all the shrouding off and am at the flywheel nut. What's the best way to get that thing off and back on when I re-assemble? Obviously the flywheel wants to spin when I turn the nut, so what's the best way to keep the flywheel from spinning so that I can get the nut off? Thanks for the help fellas.

 Re: Pulling Flywheel - Help
Use a large screwdriver (flatblade) to put a bind on the flywheel. Install the screwdriver between the case ,or studs against the middle of the flywheel teeth. I hope you can understand what Im meaning. Kinda hard to explain without pictures.

 Re: Pulling Flywheel - Help
I used an impact to bust the nut loose just a small jolt. Then just sprayed a lol wd 40 and tapped it with a rubber hammer and it slid off. Why you pullin the flywheel already.

 Re: Pulling Flywheel - Help
I used a length of angle iron with holes drilled in it to attach to the face of the flywheel. It levers against the studs for the shroud to steady it while removing/installing.

 Re: Pulling Flywheel - Help
By the time I saw coondik's message, I had already gone to Oreillys and rented a harmonic balancer puller. It worked like a charm and if I take it back within 48 hours I get my money back
