 Re: decking heads
What is shimmig and why does one do it? I'm thinking the decked heads shorten the distance between the stem and the rocker so one has to make up that distance by placing a washer to bring the spring and thus the rocker closer to the stem to return the spacing back to factory spec. I still not sure where the shim is inserted, however. Am I close?

 Re: decking heads
So one can shim a valve or a valve spring, but its the later of which one does after decking heads. Correct?

 Re: decking heads
Hard to keep those seats from warping. Best to actualy get older heads with run time on them then recur seats and lap in stainless valves. The valves we use are stock size.
